What happens during a free consultation?

A free 15-minute consultation is a low-pressure conversation where you can share what's bringing you to therapy, ask questions about our approach, and get a sense of whether we're a good fit. There's no commitment required — it's simply a chance to connect before scheduling a full session.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule directly through our online booking portal at aria-sutton.clientsecure.me. If you'd prefer to talk first, use the contact form on our website or reach out through Psychology Today. We'll respond within one business day.

Question 4

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for clients located in New Mexico. Telehealth can be a convenient option if you have a busy schedule, prefer to meet from home, or live outside the Albuquerque area.

Do you accept insurance?

Accepted Answer

We are in-network with several insurance plans. Aria Sutton accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield, Presbyterian, Molina, and United Healthcare. Wei-Shuen Orman accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield and Presbyterian. We recommend calling your insurance provider to verify your mental health benefits before your first session.

What are your session fees?

Session fees vary by therapist and service type. Aria Sutton's individual therapy sessions are $150 per 50-minute session. Wei-Shuen Orman's sessions are $130 per 50-minute session. Clinical supervision rates are available upon request. We offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots — please ask during your consultation.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before beginning services. We will provide this to all clients who are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance. Ask us for a copy at any time.

Do you accept Military Star Behavioral Health?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Aria Sutton is a Military Star Behavioral Health provider, making therapy accessible to active-duty military members, veterans, and their families. Please mention your military affiliation when scheduling so we can confirm your benefits.

Question 9

What is EMDR therapy?

Accepted Answer

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help people heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. It uses bilateral stimulation — such as guided eye movements — to help the brain process stuck memories so they no longer cause distress. EMDR is recognized by the World Health Organization and the American Psychiatric Association as an effective treatment for PTSD and trauma.

What kinds of issues do you treat?

We work with adults experiencing trauma and PTSD, anxiety and panic, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship difficulties, identity and self-esteem concerns, and the unique stressors faced by military families. Our therapists bring specialized training in trauma-informed care, EMDR, and culturally responsive practice.

What is animal-assisted therapy with Bear?

Bear is our certified therapy dog who joins select in-person sessions. Research shows that the presence of a calm, trained therapy animal can reduce anxiety, lower cortisol levels, and help clients feel more at ease — especially those working through trauma. Bear's involvement is always optional and tailored to your comfort level.

Do you offer therapy in languages other than English?

Yes. Wei-Shuen Orman provides therapy in Mandarin Chinese in addition to English, making our practice accessible to clients who prefer to process in their first language.

Who is clinical supervision for?

Accepted Answer

Clinical supervision at The Sutton Solution is designed for licensed associate therapists (LMSW, LPCC-A, LMFT-A) working toward independent licensure in New Mexico. Aria Sutton provides both individual and group supervision with a trauma-informed, relational approach.
